Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

On-line and in-person

This 8-week course is recognised internationally as a treatment for anxiety, stress and the relief of chronic pain.

The weekly sessions last 2.5 hours, and include meditations, teaching and group work. Movement meditations are included. Loose clothing is recommended. During the course there is an additional silent retreat day. This is an opportunity to practise mindfulness at a deeper level, for a prolonged time. Homework is included; this is a key factor in establishing a regular mindfulness practice.

Monthly Sitting Group – via Zoom

This monthly group is to support individuals as they develop a meditation practice. Some experience is desirable.

When: Every third Thursday of the month
Time: Evening 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm

Introductory Courses

This course is an introduction to mindfulness and its use as a treatment for anxiety & stress.

During this 2 hour introduction you will be introduced to the science behind mindfulness as a treatment of anxiety and stress. You will have the opportunity to meditate and talk about this experience. Mindfulness is over two thousand years old and this history will be put into context with modern mindfulness.

Eating & Mindfulness: a 4 week training course in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.

I have designed this course based on my experiences in my careers as both a dietitian and as a psychotherapist, combining these with my understanding of mindfulness.

This 4 week course is run on-line to allow privacy as some personal ideas and belief systems are explored. The course is contained within the ideas of mindfulness and self awareness, and also encourages self compassion.

Individuals are encouraged to explore the thoughts, beliefs and behaviours they have around food. They will be encouraged to challenge these.

Small break out rooms may be used to allow group participants to reflect on the extent to which they judge and criticise themselves and begin a journey of shifting this to acceptance and self compassion.

If you wish to run your own Mindfulness programmes, or to find out more for yourself, family and friends I am able to design training to suit your particular needs. I cannot deliver training to large organisations but am happy to point you in the right direction. I can provide an intimate venue for up to 5 people.
